Know how you can remove DTG pretreatment stains
As a business owner, dealing with printed t-shirts, you must aim to become the flawless designs and deliver the quality that lasts longer. While the DTG printers are designed with advanced technology, but sometimes there can be some sort of stains on the garments. In case you start to notice imperfection in the prints and feel that you should fix the issue, it is very important to understand the types of pre-treatment stains to know how to deal with them. In this blog, we will discuss the issues that can happen with a pretreatment machine and how to deal with the matter.
Simple Steam Fix
Sometimes, the stain may be just due to the minor pretreatment imperfection on certain garments. It can be due to manually steaming the garment. This may seem like a big problem, but can be easily managed and fixed. Simply plug in your steamer and make sure to use it like you would any other article of clothing that needs additional steaming.
Pretreatment Overload
Sometimes, you may leave the fabric inside a pretreatment machine for a longer time or apply too much of pretreatment solution. While this can seem like a smart choice, but it can actually cause various problems for the future prints. In case you start to spotting in your designs or stains in the fabric after heat pressing the garment, there are chances that you have applied too much pretreat. It happens mostly when you are using a hand sprayer rather than with pretreatment machine. Remember that the pretreatment machine is designed for the specific purpose and can ensure better results while the hand sprayers can sometimes make it difficult to judge whether or not you are evenly applying the right amount of treatment.
High Heat & Pressure Stains
When you put too much of heat on the fabric, it can result in ruining the garment. If bleaching stains are an issue with the DTG printing, you can try to reset the temperature of your machine. Too high temperature can result in burning the material. So, make sure to keep the temperature at the ideal level i.e. 320-325 degrees. In addition, you can also try to press the garment in 10 to 15 second intervals with a light medium pressure.
Yellowing Or Scorching Stains
Another most common problem that people face when printing with DTG printers is the yellowing or scorching, which happens mostly with light garments as they have a greater chance of acquiring yellow or scorch stains. To avoid this problem, you can start to lower the temperature and increase the time or work in short intervals to prevent yellowing or scorching from occurring. Additionally, you can also try to add another layer of parchment paper or teflon sheets to give extra protection to your garment.
So, when you notice that there are imperfections in the prints, make sure to identify them and take required action on time to save the future prints.
