Direct-to-Garment Printing (DTG) is one of the most revolutionary and advanced methods to print unique and vibrant designs on the fabrics. Printing on the dark garments is not always as easy as it is on the light garments. Ring-spun is The Best
Whenever you are using the Direct to Garment printing technique, it is important to never overlook the type of garment. There are many types of garments (sweatpants and polyester) that do not hold DTG inks. On the other hand, the 100% ring-spun cotton fabric is always the right choice to obtain the desired quality with DTG printing. It has a denser and smoother weave, so the DTG printers can print crisp and bold colors on a DTG fabric.

Always Pre-treat
Pretreatment may be optional, but it is not always a good idea to skip this step, especially when you are printing on dark garments. Applying DTG pretreatment solutions on dark garments prevents the inks from soaking into the garment, which means it remains on top of the garment. It works just like a substrate primer for the under base. Before printing on the dark garments, make sure to follow the process and use only quality DTG pretreatment solutions to ensure better results. It is also recommended to prepress the garment before you pre-treat it so it has no wrinkles and moisture.

But, it can be a drastic mistake as the unmaintained DTG printers can ruin the entire batch of your custom t-shirts. For the custom t-shirt printing businesses, it is recommended to use DTG print-head cleaner after every use to the print-head is in proper condition. Also, make sure to clean the nozzle every time you print something. Another important tip here is that you must take five minutes in the middle of production and run a quick cleaning cycle. Maintenance of your promotional product printer may seem a small step, but it makes a huge difference, especially when you are printing on the dark garments.
